I am bemused to read the anguish concerning prior attitudes
to Physics stemming from K-12 education.
I freely acknowledge I have no great traction on this issue.
I seem to be prejudiced with the idea that the US has seen a great
resurgence in Physics in the not-distant past.
People have suggested that European emigrees - perhaps among them,
German Jewish teachers provided a wonderful leavening influence
on US students of the second half of this century.
It has been easy to point to measures as obvious as Nobels per
million population, as a cause for rejoicing.
Am I to take it that further US Physics triumphs are not to be
forthcoming?
