I have found that when I get strange results, I can often find a surface
to blame reflections on. If I angle the sensor so the reflections do not
return to the sensor, no problem. I was doing a workshop today and had a
motion sensor on the floor pointed up at a mass vibrating on a spring and
was getting bizarre results which I am now thinking were probably this
effect.
