Which brings up a question:

I don't think the work-energy theorem is ambigous at all. If you look at
how it is derived; you see that Work of ALL forces acting on a point-like
object = change in KINETIC ENERGY.

Who was the first to integrate N#2 wrt dx and get such a "law"??? And while
we are at it who was the first to integrate wrt dt?

OK those are two questions!
