Robert Frost had the conceit that that one day he would write a poem about
a baseball that was hit so hard, it would pass right round the Earth, like
Newton's image of a leaden ball shot from a mountain so fast it might
circle the Earth.

The www.nyx.net URL where Robert Frost's poem is to be found, is celebrated
as the home of a prominent opponent and whistle-blower on scientific
malfeasance - specifically on medical research confabulations; William
Stewart.

There is an eerie echo there from Galilei's works in this respect - G.G.
too noted how little joy could be expected from pointing out errors.

As William Blake noted in a little poem of three verses, titled for this
first line:

Mock on, mock on, Voltaire, Rousseau;
Mock on, mock on, 'tis all in vain!
You throw the sand against the wind,
And the wind blows it back again.
