AP Books...

Greetings everyone. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable
summer. After many talks and meetings, I've finally convinced my
administrators to seriously consider allowing me and a few teachers to
attend some AP workshops. Can anyone recommend some AP workshops for
Chemistry, Physics, Math, and English? We are located in Ashland, OH and
finances are rather tight (as I'm sure it is for many places).
I've also started looking at various texts for chemistry and
physics and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some texts and the
phone # and representatives to get ahold of. My past experience with
adopting new texts is that the student texts may look great, but the
teacher's text and supplemental materials are less than desirable. My
current teachers text for chem. and phys. are riddled with mistakes and
many times I've found my text may not correspond with my students' texts
even though we have the same edition of the text. Has anyone experienced
this? Any suggestions, especially since many companies will only allow
me to review the student's text? If I'm going to be spending a large sum
of money, I want to know that my students and myself are receiving
quality material.

Thanks,
Dwight Souder
