Many years ago when I was in graduate school we had some magnetic
shields for thee gamma scintillators we were using. I think that they
are also available for germanium detectors today. They were made of
some soft alloy and had a trade name. Unfortunately, both the trade
name and the composition of the alloy have been forgotten.
