Missed the original post.

Just today I have used the smart pulley with my F6 class to relate
force to acceleration.
I will be using a spring to measure force later in the day in wht I
call a 'Force meter' with the students.

So: measurement of force can be done without measuremtn
of acceleration.

But sooner or later force and acceleration must be linked.
