Re: textbook on thermal physics

In the fall, I will be teaching our course on thermal physics,
which is at the junior-senior level. But I am ready for a change from my
previous textbook (Stowe).
We do both stat. mech. and thermo. in one semester of 45 class
hours. Can someone who has taught this topic in recent years recommend a
satisfactory text? (Personally, I am partial to Reif's approach of getting
thermo. from stat. mech., because this is much more intuitive to me, but I
am open to any good book, esp. if it's not too voluminous--I can cover
about 300 pages per semester.)
Alternatively, does anyone have a comment on Espinola's recent
book, or on Zemansky-Dittman, of which I recently received examination
copies.
Another member advised that this question is consistent with the
purpose of this discussion group, but if you have any doubts please reply
to me privately at wilkins@unomaha.edu .
