Jim: Visual Basic is very capable of doing fast repaints with their
access to the Windows API and it is not that complicated. Try it- you
might enjoy a non-DOS environment.

But isn't the compilation to some pseudo language and not to machine
language so it is not as fast as it could be??? I am in need of a *fast*
language so that a recursive screen refresh is not jerky. Any suggestion?
