Although it it true that the quarks possess color charge, I suspect that you
meant to say that "the *gluons* themselves carry color charge", since it is
the gluon color charge that is related to the nonlinear/nonabelian nature of
the strong interaction rather than the quark colors.

Exactly right! I meant "The color force mediated by GLUONS is an example;
the gluons themselves carry color charge." Thanks for pointing out the
correction.
