....there was a recent Physics Tchr blowgun article using whiteboard markers 
wrapped in masking tape in either 1/2" or 3/4" PVC plumbing pipe.  Using
10' of PVC water pipe and supporting the sag carefully I could hit the
wall above the clock in a 275 seat lecture hall.  The darts only survived 
one or two flights though.
