Re: chladni plates

Anyone looking for anything about Physics Lecture Demonstrations should
first contact the PIRA web site at:
http://www.uark.edu/depts/pira/

The first place to look is under the PIRA Demonstration Classification
Scheme, which lists the top 200, top 500, and top 1000 Physics Lecture
Demonstrations in use by the Physics Community. Get the PIRA number of the
demonstration in question for easier future use.

The next place to look is at the PIRA Demonstration Bibliography. The
complete biblioraphy contains over 7500 Physics Lecture Demonstration
references catalogued by PIRA number.

Next, take a look at "Links to Other Places," where you'll find what the
lecture demo "sweat shops" around the country are doing! Most of us have
catalogs of recommended demonstrations. Most of us hang out on tap-l.
We've spent tha past 10 years compiling the Physics Instructional Resources
for your Association. Have fun, Karl

I have managed to intrigue one of my students enough to persuade them to
investigate the patterns of vibration of chladni plates. I have looked
through my indices of The Physics Teacher for the last 6 years and must
have overlooked references to them, if they're there at all.

Can someone suggest an article or two SOMEWHERE they've seen on the
topic? Thanks
