A caution about using solar filters on small telescopes. DO NOT use the
solar filters that are placed over the eyepiece. The intense heas that
can forn as the solar energy is concentrated on the eyepiece can cause
the filter to shatter. Glass flying into the eye as well as the exposure
to intense light can be a very nasty experience.

Try several thicknesses of silvered MYLAR over the objective lens to view
the sun.
