Re: C-SAT

There is a guy named William F Haxby (I think at Columbia) who takes ocean
height data from C-SAT and because sea mounts cause local (over a few miles)
changes in ocean height, he can map the sea bottom surface.

What does the list know about this???

Do I have the satellite name correct? May be it is SEA-SAT.

Who sponsors this satillite and what does it generally do?

SEASAT was a satellite active in the late seventies. I think there is a new
mission doing something similar (sorry, this is vague, it's Monday morning...)

SEASAT is on the web at http://southport.jpl.nasa.gov/
