This response is written by a teacher who encourages the use of computers
by students and who uses more computer generated material than any other
teacher in the department.

New methods of proof - there are none. Modern commuication methods like
videos and computer simulations are not proofs but do provide examples.
(Some computational procedures are coming close to being proofs, but I
know of none suitable for undergraduate work.) Computer simulations are
great for providing examples, developing physical intuition, and showing
the results of advanced methods. For example, today I passed out graphs
showing the extent of fringing in a paralletl plate capacitor (The
program took 25 min to run on a 133 MHz pentium.)
