I should also have said to take care to check out the system
requirements before plunking down your nickel. They are pretty stiff
though not out of reach these days.


The Santa Cruz Operation is now offering SCO unix and unixware
(recently pruchased from Novell) free to individuals, educators and
students for noncommercial use. They charge a $19 fee for producing
the cd roms and that is all. If anyone has an interest in exploring
unix (now _there's_ a tarbaby), this is a worthwhile way to try it
out, in a league with Linux. You can find out more from their web
