This is certainly a really good point. One problem is that once wrong ideas
get established it is really hard to eradicate them. Even after scientists
all know, the general public goes on with the old ideas. Another problem is
time. When a decision needs to be made now, it is hard to know what to do
with science that has not been around long enough to stand the test of time.
Thus, those who practice deception can do a lot of damage.
