Re: Engineering College

Could someone suggest possible engineering schools in the northeast that
are of modest size, but not small and offer more than just majors in
science? The student that asked me for the information is not sure what
field of engineering she is interested yet. Please feel free to reply
directly to me. Thanks, Roger P. Menard

Don't know whether this is northeast enough for your student, but for
choice and quality Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio is a
good choice. Strong engineering and strong science, but the Western
Reserve part has strong social sciences and humanities.

Another good one is a little more east: Carnegie Mellon Univ. again
strong engineering, strong science along with strong humanities and social
science.

Both cities Cleveland and Pittsburgh no longer deserve the reputation of
dirty industrial towns which they earned before the end of the 60's. Both
cities are very clean and have much to offer.
