Jim,

The "hot" DOS/Windows shareware astronomical package is called Earth-Centered 
Universe or ECU (it can even control scopes).  Written by a guy in Halifax 
yay!) who is a member of the RASC (the handbook people).  It PROBABLY does 
what you want; if not that page points to similar SW.
