Assistant Director, Institutional Research & Assessment
Southeastern Louisiana University

Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications and nominations for the
position of Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. The
Assistant Director reports to the Director of Institutional Research and
Assessment. The Office is responsible for all institutional administrative
research activities, including compiling and reporting data on the internal and
external environment of the University, conducting internal and peer comparison
studies for decision-making and strategic planning, and preparing analyses and
reports for institutional effectiveness, accountability, and assessment.

The University seeks an individual to provide leadership and initiative for
designing, managing, and developing statistical and supportive information for
executive and managerial policy formulation.

Candidates should have
Ph.D. or equivalent in an analytical discipline with a background in research
methodology, statistical analysis, program review and evaluation, testing and
assessment;
At least five years experience in administration, institutional or academic
planning, and research in a university setting, including some experience in
supervision of personnel and projects;
Knowledge of university institutional characteristics including governance,
planning, budgeting and finance, personnel, and institutional/program review
and accreditation;
Extensive experience in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information using
mainframe and personal computers, including use of statistical packages such as
SAS and/or SPSS, and spreadsheet, database, word processing, and graphics
software;
Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills;
and
Demonstrated organizational skills and abilities in managing multiple projects
and timelines.

Southeastern Louisiana University is a fast-growing regional comprehensive
university with a student population of 14,000+. Situated on the north shore
of Lake Pontchartrain, the University is one hour away from the metropolitan
areas of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The University offers a wide range of
undergraduate and graduate programs in Education, Nursing, Arts & Sciences, and
Business.

Salary commensurate with experience. Twelve-month contract. Applications must
