This is Nick again. Thanks for all the comments. We will have up to
$5000.00 to purchase telescope, computer and CCD equipment, with hopefully
another $2000 to buy a generator. I know 5000 watts is a lot, but it's best
to overdo it when possible if you're travelling in the unknown.
Our location is in the middle of a 40 acre pasture on top of the highest hill
in the county. We can see to the zero degree horizon in just about all
directions (except where the stationary building is). We will be using it
for classes and star parties for local amateur astronomers. It will also
probably be used by nearby universities because of the good dark site
location, (so I am told). I would like to get a good enough telescope to
attract some really good astronomers who could also share some of their
expertise with the local astronomers. Thanks, Nick
