You might check out a book called
_The Scientific Traveler - A Guide to the People, Places & Institutions of
Europe_, by Charles Tanford and Jacqueline Reynolds. It was published by
John Wiley & Sons in 1992.
Lots of museums, with some schedules and phone numbers, as well as some
history and other scientific/historical sites of interest.
