Academic position:
Laboratory Manager/Lecturer - Applications are solicited for a
non-tenure-track faculty position at the Lecturer level, to begin as
early as July 15, 1996. After the first year this is planned as a
9-month position; summer support in one of the department's research
groups may be available. It carries a term appointment up to 5 years
with the possibility of renewal. Candidates should have completed a Ph.D.
in physics or a closely related field and will be expected to manage and
maintain undergraduate laboratory facilities and equipment, train student
assistants, and assist with both laboratory and lecture courses. The
applicant should have demonstrated excellent teaching and organizational
skills and be knowledgeable about and committed to the use of computing
and other modern instructional technologies in undergraduate education.
An applicant should send a curriculum vitae, including a summary of
teaching experience, and a letter outlining career objectives and
teaching philosophies, and arrange to have three letters of
recommendation sent to Professor Hershcel Neumann, Chair, at the above
