Re: Question About RAM

Hello Jonathan:

First you need to look inside your Mac to see if there are any slots open
for you to add additional memory. Macs usually take SIMM chips in pairs,
so you either have two slots open or none. The speed of the chip is very
important and you can't mix SIMMs. So you'll have to figure out how fast
your current chips are. Talk either to Apple or none of the mail order
catalog sales reps for this info.

You only need the $10 extension if your current slots are all filled.
Finally, it is very easy to upgrade the memory yourself. Good luck.

P.S. I usually get my stuff from the "Mac Zone" catalogs - 1-800-248-0800.
Also try Memory USA on the web at http://mu.com/.

Cheers!
