In ancient times when I was designing non-color cameras, I noticed
that if one reverse the polarity of the video signal and viewed the monitor
with the camera, all these effects occurred in saturated black & white
form. Much more impressive than the normal "hall-of-mirrors effect,
which needed the brightness and contrast carefully adjusted.
