The book that I have, in addition to a great one on sundial cut-outs, is
called:
Sundials, their theory and construction, by Albert Waugh, DOVER
0-486-22947-5 (paper), 1973.
It's pretty good, really, and being a Dover, isn't expensive. One thing
that you may have to adjust is the angle of the face plate relative to
the horizontal _if_ the gnomon angle is not exactly the same as your
latitude. Of course, there are also a number of other corrections that
must be made sort-of manually for the orbital speed of the Earth and its
effect on the length of the solar day, etc. It's really neat, all that
stuff.
